Due to abrasion caused by various factors such as sliding, scraping and abrasive materials carried by water etc. Abrasion Resistance of Concrete therefore becomes difficult to assess because of various modes of abrasive actions. However, the evaluation of the relative resistance of a concrete surface is possible using proper test methods.

Aimil supplies Concrete Abrasion Resistance machines suitable for two test methods -:

• Underwater Method - Ref. Std.: ASTM C1138 (AIM 385)
• Abrasion Charge Method- Ref. Std.: lS 9284- 1979 (AIM 387)

Application

Underwater Method- For determining the relative resistance of concrete(including concrete overlays and impergnated concrete) to abrasion under water. Abrasion Charge Method-For determining the relative resistance of a concrete surface by finding the abrasion loss of the specimen subjected to an abrasive charge.
